My name Alison Kennedy and I am a counsellor and wellbeing coach. My role is to provide you with the space and guidance you need to help you.

I am empathetic and genuine in my approach. I offer a chance to reflect on the difficulties or problems you are experiencing in a safe and confidential environment.

Together, we can explore your situation in a way that encourages you to gain insight and fresh perspectives, and perhaps a new understanding of yourself.

About my practice


I am an integrative counsellor, having a DIPHE in counselling Studies from the University of Ulster and I am fully accredited with the BACP ( British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy ).

Counselling is about the process of becoming whole - physically, emotionally mentally and spiritually. It is a holistic approach that works towards self-actualisation, which means living your best life in alignment with your values. I want to help you fulfill your potential. As we work together you may start to notice underlying beliefs, thoughts and feelings. Then, as Increased awareness arises, I will encourage you to apply practical steps to help consolidate progress.

I want to help you find your unique voice so that you feel confident to live an authentic life of purpose and wellbeing.

The foundation is Client Centred, based on the work of Carl Rogers. This means that you are the focus and the expert in your own life.

I incorporate other theoretical approaches such as, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic Theory, Solution Focused theory, Neuro Linguistic Programming and Attachment Theory.

Wellbeing Coaching

I am a certified Wellbeing Coach.


Wellbeing is a state of physical, mental and social health. It is not just an absence of illness, but encompasses life satisfaction, positive emotions and a sense of meaning.

Coaching helps you to explore what might be getting in the way of you living your best life now. Overthinking and worrying about the past or future can cause stress, anxiety or depression. We will examine new ways of looking at your situation and develop strategies to create the change that you need. Rediscovering your unique skills and resources will empower you to live the life that you desire.

Testimonials

Fees

Sessions will last for 50 minutes, usually taking place on a weekly basis at around the same suitable time.

Please contact me for information about my fees.


Initial assessments last around 75 minutes.

Sessions and Availability

I offer a limited number of concessions for those on a low income. Please contact me for availability.


Contracts usually run for 6 sessions and are reviewed every 6 sessions.

If you wish to cancel a session, please allow 48 hours notice, otherwise you will still need to pay for missed sessions.

I accept payment by bank transfer.
